Training in Mechanical Ventilation has always been an integral part of critcal care teaching. But till date it has been taught conventionally through lots of lectures and diagrams and some hands on session on a ventilator with a test lung. Our understanding of the nuances of this modality is severely limited this way. The SIMVENT course opens the horizon to an in depth understanding of the subject by introducing simulation to this. Several student generated scenarios can be simulted and practiced without patient involvement. Till date over 1000 medical professionals have been trained in this manner and still counting...
